SOULS by Vega
Compliments of Vega Kiyori
Whatever our souls are made of,
his and mine are the same.
~Emily Bronte
Imagine if you could just distill yourself into the most
integral form of who you are? You will choose "I am love" or maybe
"I am empathy?" You’ll cut away all the useless labels of your real
life; the who, what, when, where, and how's. These labels are not important in Second
Life. What is important is the essential part(s) of you that makes you, well,
YOU! You become a singularity of "why" you exist and then, you will
feel the absolute freedom of connecting with others - essence to essence!
In Second Life you can connect with people on an incredibly
deep and profound level because 1. none of those "other" labels are
present, and 2. You can connect your essential "you" to the essential
parts of others. You might say "I am music" or "I am
poetry?" What do you think? If you could just distill yourself into the
most essential ingredient of who you are and meet the essential humanness of
another, isn't that worth it?
Why Second Life? Because you can connect soul to soul without the real-life exposure to meaningless & judgmental metrics so prevalent in real life! You can be the best part of who you are!
The creator of Second Life has a lot to say about all these new 'metaverses'
By Tyler Wilde published
Linden Lab founder Philip Rosedale and executive chairman Brad Oberwager aren't too impressed with what they've seen so far.
"The residents have to build the metaverse," says Oberwager.

Pagani Huayra - OH MY, what a paint job!
Pagani Huayra
"Any ride can be tweaked and peaked!"
"First, I select the chassis of the car or cycle then I black the original texture. Then, i add new texture and tweak the numbers. Next, onto the shine layer where i slap on a coat of glitter and tweak the numbers to cover the shell evenly and shoot it with a different color gloss. Last, to finish off, i get after the chromes and then wheels. I can do windows and complete interior mods, too!" - ⓂⓄⒹⓄ (stiffler.bombastic)
"I'll make your ride slide and look cool on the glide." - Modo

The SL Profile
Don't Forget to Read Profiles
The SL Profile is like your eyes in real life. You can learn the *5 W's and H's of who people are by reading their profiles, and get an idea or "feeling" about whether or not you might/can have something in common with them. A person's profile may intrigue and delight you. Some profiles can open your eyes to new things and ways of thinking, and may even help facilitate a change in perspective. On the other hand, some profiles may make you want to TP (teleport) outta there as fast as possible (lol).
In any event, while reading profiles you can apply the Q-Tip Rule of life: Quit Taking it Personally, and just enjoy the amazing profiles you can read in SL.
Dating Tip: If you are, in fact, open to relationships in SL, it's kinda hard to find places to meet people whom you may connect with. One good way is to find sims, environments, and clubs that you love; join their groups. Once you've joined the group you can read all the group members' profiles and see if any of them sound like you might want to meet them. Then, send them a PM (private message) and say "hey, I see you belong to xyz group. Do they have any events coming up?" Notice, this works even if you're only looking for new friends.
Social Scientists did research on the number of people you have to meet & greet (not sleep with) in order to find a friend, best friend, or a potential soul mate (this is the foundation of the dating shows on tv; like The Bachelor). They found that a person needs to meet & greet up to 100 new people to find 3 or 4 people who may be your bestie or a soul mate. People, too often, give up and settle for 2nd best. My advice: don't settle! Meet & greet as many people as you want until you have the few friends or "the one" you want in your life. It's worth it!
Found on a profile a few years ago:
There's 3 main ways to approach SL, each one is unique but none better than the other.
A. Augmentationist - One whose AVI is a tool to make a RL connection with another RL person. A connection: that doesn't mean that he/she is looking for a RL relation.
B. Roleplayer - One whose AVI is a fictional character, a puppet in a shared storyline.
C. Immersionist - One who self-identifies with their AVI, and who lives through its eyes in this world.
Some people are only one of these, and others are a mix of them, depending on the situation. Although this changes, I feel that I am:
A. 60%
B. 10%
C. 30%
(Author: A. 50, B. 0, C. 50)
Poster's Note: Obviously, there are more categories that include some, um, erm, negative reasons to be in Second Life. There are some angry, malevolent and rabble-rousing types in SL, too. I do not include those here as it isn't the focus of this article. We are not including any political or religious aspects of SL either, although, they do co-exist within SL. It is a breathtaking experience to be in SL!
We'll leave you and this post with SL Heaton's words:
