Second Life (SL) is a virtual world for human connection! Most of us can't just pick up our phone and call a stranger in Italy, Greece, France, UK, Japan, Australia (pick your favorite country), develop a relationship, become best friends, or fall in love. We can't just "jet" overseas for a weekend fling of partying with new friends (much less live with the person or people we love). We can't take off work for a month to visit a possible new friend or lover we want to spend time with, nor can we bring them home for an hour to spend time dancing, telling stories, romancing, or just having fun.

To sum it up, SL is what you make it, and you can go as deep and involved or as light and silly as you want to make it. If you're stuck at home or living with a disability, SL gets you "up and out" of your home and connects you with a wide variety of people, places and things you will enjoy!
