There are many ways to learn how to operate in Second Life. For gamers it's easy because often they already understand the controls (mostly) and know what to expect. However, if you are a first-time user entering a virtual world it can seem very daunting. 

If you would like to connect with people around the world, create networks of close friends, or just want to hang-out at clubs playing your favorite genre of music but don't have a clue how to start you can:

• Go to youtube.com and search "how to" in Second Life. There are many videos related to learning how to join and how to operate your avatar in SL (Second Life). See Strawberry Singh: (1) Intro to Second Life Part 1 – Creating an Account & Moving Around - YouTube
• Google search "Second life."
• Click on the above picture for the SL User Manual.
• Join from the Second Life main website by clicking "join" on the top menu bar here on DtA's website.
• When you login for the first-time type in "Door to America" in the location field on the right side.
